Finally finished this one. I've read it three or four times now. I love Linda Howard. She has a writing style that can pull off just about anything from the most serious to the comic. This book is no exception. My only complaint about this one is the beginning is sloooww. She walks the dog - going into too much detail about Daisy's wardrobe and move to her house. It picks up when she hooks up with Jack. Dialogue zips and the story takes on a charming southern quality that's true to real life. I guess why this one keeps getting pulled from the shelf and reread - although I like Kill and Tell and Mr. Perfect a little better than this one.
