THE SWEETHEART DANCE Cover

The Sweetheart Dance cover arrived. It was definitely not what I expected. Into every life a little disappointment must fall, but seriously? I guess I was just spoiled with the fabulousness of The Daddy Spell's cover. Although, as romances go, my brother pointed out to me that The Daddy Spell was actually a very bland cover. I liked it, I guess, because it so closely resembled a painting I had used for inspiration. So I keep looking at this one. And looking at it. And looking at it. Maybe it will grow on me. I like the type set and the girl and her dress is very cute. What do you think? Tell me what you think of my cover.

It's fun, I like it. I also think it's good marketing.

I think it does well for advertising your story as a romance...but that girl on the cover just isn't how I pictured Meg at all. Honestly, I'd more picture a cover where a girl stands to the side and watches silhouetted couples dance. But that's just me!

Well, the vote is in. Not only do you two agree. My girls - Jamie, Anne, Rebecca - also think the cover is the bomb, so I'm taking a left turn to an attitude adjustment and getting on board with the concept! LOL!

My initial reaction was "That's not Meg!" But the more I look at it, the more I like it. The look on her face is unrequited love, the wallflower abandoned in the corner by her date, longing to dance with Bret...I think it works, actually. But I wonder if the artist actually looked at The Daddy Spell at all before deciding on this one...Besides, her sitting on the floor goes along with the first scene. Chair? I need a chair? What was in those red fizzy drinks anyway?
